COACHING
TRAINEE COACH
Recreational Gymnastics (3-16 yrs)
JOB PURPOSE
- To develop as a Recreational gymnastics coach at the Yard.
- To assist in the administration of the recreational programme
The Yard is Singapore's premier and largest gymnastics provider for Recreational and high performance gymnastics, and we are currently seeking trainee gymnastic coaches to join our expanding team.
As one of Singapore’s fastest growing sports, gymnastics is firmly rooted in the daily curriculums of young developing athletes. As we see an increased focus and investment at a governing body level, there is. a trend to move towards a greater focus on technically driven, grassroot programs flowing into strong high performance squads. Driven by this growth there is a real need for qualified & experienced gymnastics coaches
At The Yard we have developed a successful training program for enthusiastic individuals with a background in sport. Whilst specific experience in Gymnastics is not absolutely essential as full training will be given, we do require motivation, dedication and a passion for the sport from all participants. Our Trainee Gymnastics Coaching Program aims to develop and educate potential coaches towards becoming experienced coaches for the future, and furnish a strong coach mentorship & learning program that grows the next generation of coaches for the club & Singapore as a whole.
The program works through a combination of strong mentorship delivery as well as on the floor provision of real time experience in a class situation, developing the leaders we will need.

JOB DESCRIPTION
COACHING
- To deliver high-quality, progressive coaching sessions appropriate to age and ability of group under the direction of the Recreation Programs Manager
- Ensure the safety of all participants, other coaches and your own within sessions, reporting all accident and incidents in accordance with The Yard’s procedures and codes of practice.
- Adhere at all times to, Safeguarding, Equality and Health & Safety practices.
- Attend all coaching clinics to assist in coaching development.
- Operate and maintain effective communication channels with all relevant staff, parents and participants.
ADMINISTRATION
- Working with the Senior Recreational coach assist in the development of the delivery, structure and scheduling of all recreational programs providing assistance as required.
- Assist in the development of lesson plans
- Learn to assist in the maintenance of the equipment in the Gym
GENERAL
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance
- Be punctual and have a positive attitude to attendance
- Maintain a high standard of conduct and behaviour that is sensitive to the client base especially in the dealings with the children
- Facility maintenance assistance in the presentation of the Gym
- Team player, working with all members of the Dempsey staff
- Complete the Review and Development exercise and undertake identified development opportunities on an annual basis
- Respect confidentiality at all times
- Complete ad hoc tasks to be agreed with the Management team
- To assist with cover in both Gymnasts, Trampoline and Freestyle programmes if required
- Undertake any other duties within the overall purpose and scope of the roles as may be required by the Director of Coaching
SCHOOL PROGRAMME COACH
Recreational Gymnastics
JOB PURPOSE
- To be a School Programme Coach within the Yard Education schools programme coaching age-appropriate classes for recreational gymnastics.
- Under the guidance of the School Programme Manager assist in the further development of the recreational programme, planning age-appropriate gymnastics curriculums across the Early Years, Junior and Senior Gymnastics programs.
- To ensure timely and accurate communication between all parties, gymnasts, parents, Programme Manager and school administration as necessary.
- To work with the School Programme Manager to develop and enhance the strong relationship with the school and the continual progression of the programme.
JOB DESCRIPTION

- Attend and contribute to coaching clinics where relevant to role and development.

- To deliver Campsor events as specified under the direction of the School Programme manager
PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
- Under the direction of the Schools Programme Manager assist in the development of the delivery, structure and scheduling of all recreational programs.
- Assist in the development of periodic skill testing/ grading activities for all recreational classes adhering to an agreed calendar in conjunction with a thorough pre/post communication strategy to all relevant parties.
- Working together with the school programme manager to ensure the effective running of all classes, to increase quality, consistency, reliability and athlete development.
- Assist in the implementation of a system of regular review, feedback and improvement across all recreational programs from an athlete, parent, coach and structural perspective.

ADMINSTRATION
FRONT OF HOUSE, CUSTOMER CARE OFFICER & OPERATIONS
JOB PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Directors and the Management at the Dempsey location, be responsible for The Yard’s Front of House.

Be responsible for The Yard Dempsey’s memberships from sales to the administration of payments, assisting in the analysis, reporting and identification for future membership growth and development across all services.

Working with the team, ensure the facility is presentable and fully operational on a day to day basis.

Be responsible for the birthday party administration, liaising with parents and coaches and hosting of parties.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Customer Care
● Greet customers according to the reception procedure operating at The Yard.
● Act as the first line of support for all parents, children and patrons to The Yard.
● Provide front of house customer care for all enquiries, concerns and complaints.
● Ensure that all information presented to members and potential members is readily available and on-brand.
● Administer current memberships, ensure all payments are made, taking into account any credits or debits of accounts.
● Manage new membership sales, advising customers and assisting sign-ups, upgrades and transfers.
● Report and analyze failed payments, liaising with the membership team and customers to rectify discrepancies.
● Follow all Government regulations ensuring customers, employees and all participants are kept safe and rules are adhered to.
Administration
● Greet customers according to the SOP for The Yard and ensure the facility is presentable and operational on a day to day basis.
● Provide information on services and all retail products at The Yard.
● Assist with stock taking and ensure products are displayed neatly around the reception areas.
● Assist with the cash/nets payments for customers and reconcile all sales daily and prepare for banking.
● Support coaches in the administration of classes according to the Registration Procedure and Trials Procedure within the SOP.
● Liaise with coaches on a regular basis to ensure participants are attending relevant classes.
● Provide administrative support for classes, camps and Birthday Parties.
● Perform any administrative duties as directed by Dempsey Management.
● Promote The Yard’s products and services and update all inventories.
● Promote classes, birthday parties, camps and other additional activities at The Yard and ensure new and potential bookings are forwarded to the relevant parties.
● Ensure the smooth execution of birthday parties at Dempsey, from first communication to a conclusion, overseeing and continually improving the processes including communication with parents, preparation of gift bags, coaching resources and the inventory of party decorations.
● Continue the development of the SOP for parties including checklists for coaches to ensure successful revenue generation for parties at Dempsey.
● Work to continually improve the reception procedures and associated documents, including checklists to ensure daily tasks are completed. This should be in conjunction with the other locations.
General
